'If it is true that 70% of communication is non-verbal, and that we make
our world describing it to the others, then it is true that for 70% is
our unconscious to decide our fate, as a sort of Greek tragedy where as
much as we say we want to avoid a certain outcome, the more we approach
it.
I am very curious about the silent dialogue between the artist's unconscious,
which permeates his artworks beyond his rational perception, and the unconscious
of the
observers, taking from the artworks more than they believe.
There is a sort of secret world, so many considerations and beliefs with
no name that influence our behavior, and our lives in general, that are
handed down from generation to generation, as if humanity is circumnavigating
an island without land and delve into its
inner part, unknown and mysterious.
I approached typical images of advertising fliers, near to the public daily
experience, portraying gestures taken out of context, on backgrounds of
old postcards of places no
longer depicted as: a superposition of an action without context, without
meaning, on a non-longer exists; the short circuit resulting leads the
observer to wonder about the habits persistent regardless of the changing
background setting, and vice versa the actions that often do not change
the environment in the way we would like, or do not change it at all.
